About the Ohio Information Security Forum
The Ohio Information Security Forum is a group of enthusiasts and professionals involved in information security,networking, system administration, engineering, and other computing environments that come together to:
• Learn security
• Share knowledge of security technologies
• Discuss security issues, emerging security threats & vulnerabilities, hacking techniques & trends, defense
techniques & strategies, laws & regulations, recent trends in security
• Share expertise and solutions to issues
• Collaborate
• Network with fellow information security peers
• Conduct training programs for security and non-security people
• Share experience with security products
• Help secure our digital world
There is no cost or fee to belong to the forum nor are you required to attend the meeting to belong. Everyone involved in administrating or engineering computer systems are welcome to become a member.
The forum meets regularly, every month.
The forum meets monthly in the evening on the second Thursday of every month at a location to be announced prior to the
meeting. It usually lasts two hours. The meetings consist of tutorials (training, etc.) by members, group discussions, security
update for the month (covering threats, patches, tools), beginner section, best practices section, and demos. Topics covered
range in level from beginner to advanced. See below for more information including directions to the location.

Privacy
• Confidentiality is implied unless otherwise identified.
• Discussions may involve confidential issues relating to a particular company, all members are required to abide to a code of conduct that mandates confidentiality. Confidentiality of information of this nature is implied unless otherwise noted.
• Members are never to use proprietary or confidential information as discussed in meetings or on website to disparage a company or person reputation nor use it in a negative way against the said company.
• Membership to the forum is kept confidential and only viewed by other members.
• Members contact information will not be shared with any vendor without express consent from the member.
By default, member information is kept confidential!
Code of Conduct
• Professional and ethical manner conduct required at all times.
• Courteous to fellow members.
• No misrepresentation of abilities to fellow members or the community.
• Maintain confidentiality of any sensitive topics discussed by fellow members.
• Maintain confidentiality of members’ personal information (i.e., names, email addresses, etc.)
• Do not use information gained/obtained at forum to exploit vulnerabilities or use in an inappropriate manner.
Membership
• Free, no cost or obligation.
• Participation and contribution are required. The group will only be as good as the members make it.
• Name and email address needed for correspondence.
• Open to anyone in the IT industry, students of computer science and engineering.
• Do not discriminate or restrict membership based on sex, race, religion, or ethnic/national origin.

• Consists of three members
• Voluntary
• Organizes meetings and events
Meeting Information
• Every second Thursday of the month.
• Start time is usually around 6:00 PM and lasts about two hours.
Location, Parking, Directions, Misc.
• The meeting location is Room 113 in the Sinclair Learning Center at Miami Valley Research Park.
• Lower lot is availible for parking.
